The Horror The Horror

Bush nominates Alito to Supreme Court

"This appointment ignores the value of diverse backgrounds and perspectives on the Supreme Court," the Nevada Democrat said. "The president has chosen a man to replace Sandra Day O'Connor, one of only two women on the court. For the third time, he has declined to make history by nominating the first Hispanic to the court."

Well if Alito gets confirmed then I am afraid that the Supreme Court is going to become a conservative "old boy's club" where minorities are not invited. It is saddening that the President is ignoring the actual makeup of the United States when nominating a person to the Court. Last time I checked there are a lot of women in this country, and if Alito gets confirmed, by the time he is done on the court, there is going to be a lot more Hispanics.
