A letter to Pat

Pat Robertson: Sharon’s stroke is God’s wrath

Dear Pat,

It is by the grace of God that you are alive today at your old age, but I believe that God is keeping you alive to challenge the world. I would like to think that any other Christian is praying for the recovery of a man who is suffering. However, you have decided to tell the world that Sharon's suffering is because he is angering God. This is not the Christianity I was taught, nor the Christianity of anyone I know. The Bible states that the Kingdom of God is in each one of us, not attached to a country or a building. Another important point to make is that Jesus says that whatever you do to the least of my brothers, you do onto me. I do not feel you believe that. I believe that you are pushing a agenda that is neither Gods, or religious. Please stop calling yourself a Christian becauseue it is hard for me to figure out what you love, besides hearing yourself talk. You are an embarrassment to my faith, but challenge me to show others that Christianity is not about judging, but loving.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

I do not believe that he is referring to Christian "brothers" in that comment because, there was no Christianity at that time. So I believe he was in fact talking about all people. There are other passages in the bible that refer to Jesus talking about everyone. Those who believe in God, and do not.
