Punishment

Woman jailed each crash anniversary

So yesterday I went on a tirade about the death penalty. I did this because I feel that there should be a better way to punish people for what they have done. Well in Arkansas they made a woman spend the anniversary of day she killed a little boy by driving past a stopped school bus in jail. She has to do this for 15 years! This borders a little on humiliation, but it drive the point home that what she did was incredibly wrong.

Ooo! Ooo! I can explain why even though you are right it is close to excessive humilation it doesn't break her 8th ammendment (via the 14th)rights to cruel and unusual punishment. From what I see, it appears that this is part of the terms of her probation, when you agree to probation you can waive any constitutional rights. You can do this because probation isn't mandatory, but a choice, she could have taken the manslaughter jail time.
