Ray Nagin joins the 700 club

Nagin apologizes for 'chocolate' city comments

On Martin Luther King Day, Ray Nagin shows how he is really feeling. He wants New Orleans to be a chocolate city. Very nice Ray, your true feelings have been shown!

On Monday, Nagin said God wanted New Orleans to be
predominantly black and said he didn't care what the predominantly white Uptown
section of the city had to say about it.
"I don't care what people are
saying Uptown or wherever they are. This city will be chocolate at the end of
the day," he said. "This city will be a majority African-American city. It's the
way God wants it to be

I never really like this guy, and this makes me not like him even more. His statement divides people on a day when you are supposed to me uniting them. He backs up his belief with God which is something my favorite person does all the time. Well then Mayor Nagin, if your city was 67 percent black before it was destroyed, does that mean God was punishing black people. I DO NOT THINK SO!

The same goes for Hillary Clinton's statements that the US house of Representatives is being run like a plantation. Now I am not saying that it is not run like a plantation, but I really do not think you should say these things on a day celebrating a man who wanted to unite people peacefully.

A lot of hateful race crimes, and comments are said every day on both ends by all people. It saddens me that not even our leaders can stop from using race as a political machine on day celebrating one of the greatest leaders of our country!

Question: how come when all these people sit here and tell us what God wants, as if they had a personal conversation with God, they come out and say ubelievably hateful, racist, and ignorant things!? Something tells me that these things are NOT what God would want and speaking for God (depending on what you believe) is completely wrong.

Dam you Jon, you beat me to my post! I'll just concur with you here. Though the best/worst of this, is the attempt to spin it. "take dark chocolate and white milk and make milk chocolate, that's what I meant." Oy vey. I saw another post somewhere else where they mentioned that the word "chocolate" is probably forever destroyed.

ok let me clarify coz apparently what i was saying wasn't clear. i was referring to brian's comment that the word "chocolate" is probably forever destroyed, which upsetted me as a fan of the food substance chocolate, not its reference to african americans. Sorry about that person who pointed that out to me *coughjoncough* but i'll be more specific to my actual meaning rather than just putting a smiley face up! Thanks for pointing that out!

:)

Insert applicable Kevin Smith quote here:
"Metatron acts as the voice of God. Any documented occasion when some yahoo claims that God has spoken to them, they're speaking to me. Or, they're talking to themselves."

& Mrs. Clinton has a point, even if she lacks tact in this situation -- even Obama said "he felt her choice of words referred to a 'consolidation of power' in Washington that squeezes out the voters.

"The Illinois senator told CNN's 'American Morning' he believed that Clinton was merely expressing concern that special interests play such a large role in writing legislation that 'the ordinary voter and even members of Congress who aren't in the majority party don't have much input.'

"'There's been a consolidation of power by the Republican Congress and this White House in which, if you are the ordinary voter, you don't have access,' Obama said. 'That should be a source of concern for all of us.'"

The idea she's trying to convey is valid, how she said it & her timing are . . . shall we say . . . sucky?
