My Exercise Addiction

The biggest obstacle to a better bod: your brain

So I have a problem. I am so use to running 9-12 miles a week that I cannot stop. I get crabby when things get in my way of running. Since I have started running, not only have I felt better, but I also have lost a lot of weight. I really do not enjoy running a lot, but for me it calms my brain. I build up so much stress during the day, I running it off helps me at night, and makes me far less of an annoying bitch. Running is therapy and that is why I can continue to do it.
With statistics showing that more than half of people
who embark on a new exercise plan drop it within three to six months, many who
resolved to work out more this year will have fallen off the fitness wagon by
swimsuit season.

There has been several points in the last few months that I have felt like just stopping because I do not always have the time. I view working out just another part of the work day. Work, then workout therapy, then go home. Having the DVR also helps!

Yeah running!!! Wooooooo! Isn't it funny how we've become runners together? Its kinda sweet in a way. :-P But the weight we've lost has paid off hasn't it? How much have you lost total? 20 lbs now? Look our swim suit season, here come Jon and Lisa!

I do know what you mean though with it being an addiction/obsession. If i don't get my 2.25 miles 3 times a week in, all hell will break loose.

I heard from a reliable source that repetitive bilateral motion (i.e. running or my personal favorite, the stairstepper) actually helps your brain process more information. Go figure.
