V

V for Vendetta

So, this has got to be one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. The Wachowski Brothers finally made up for The Matrix Trilogy. This film was incredibly thought provoking in the sense that it showed how government control people by fear. This of course happens every day in the U.S. as we talk about 9/11, and terrorism. This movie all but hit you over the head about control with fear, and how the government should be afraid of the people and not the other way around. However with it hitting us in the face for about 2 hours I am sure the average American would leave with the thought that I am not afraid of our government. This is unfortunate, with all the Hollywood movies that have "I hate the Bush Administration" undertones in them. The movie also had themes about social intolerance, andone of the most striking scenes in the movie was about a lesbian couple who was tortured because of who they loved.

The movie was also very controversial because it was about terrorism that you as the viewer agreed with. After watching that movie, I realized that terrorism is such a stupid word. Terrorism is not about the threat of violence , it is about fear, and whoever is causing the fear is the real terrorist.

The movie was amazing like you said! I really like your new definition of "terrorism"...you're proving to be quite thought provoking yourself today! :)
