The Biggest Loser

The Biggest Loser

So, I am willing to say that the Biggest Loser the best reality shows on TV today. Now I am a huge Survivor fan and cannot get enough of it, but in the end those people do not learn anything. They are out for the money and to beat everyone else! However, on the biggest loser is not about the money, it is about living a better life. Sure there is money for the end prize, but it is only 250,000 compared to Survivors 1 million. Also they spend 3 months away, and the survivors (yes i know they are on an island) only spend 39 days. The point that I am making is people who watch this show see a literal transformation of the contestants. One of the contestants came in weighting 401, and lost 189 during the show. He was voted out of the house, but still managed to lose all that weight. The winner lost 157 pounds, stopped drinking, and now is starting his wrestling career again. The show also teaches the viewers how to live a better life by eating better, and working out. To see the players reactions through the show is incredibly emotional. This show is very inspiring, and points out how America needs to eat better, and live healthier lives.

Here is the thing...They checked up on the people who were voted out and they still kept the weight off. The show was about teaching a healthy lifestyle. In order to win, you had to keep losing weight after you left the ranch.

Exactly Jon. Yes, they were lucky enough to have a personal trainer and nutritionist to get them started, but they went back to their families, back to their jobs, back to their busy lives and were still able to lose more weight and even get people in their lives to lose weight. They were dedicated and realized that they had to change their entire lives and they all admitted to having a hard time when they got back home but they realized they couldn't live their lives like that anymore. I admit, if it was "real life" they probably wouldn't have lost that weight as fast (it took me about a year and a half to lose 48 pounds) but it is definitely real. Every episode hit me because i could relate to every feeling and thought those people had, when they were fat, and now that they're thin. That show is awesome and I hope it can inspire a lot of people to change their lives, and realize that all it takes is a change in diet and an increase in exercise and a TON of dedication. (coz Lord knows America needs to!)
